HOME SAFETY INSPECTIONS
Our Home Safety Inspection (Brisbane - Gold Coast, QLD) is designed to give you an overview of the basic fire safety within your home and identify potential fire safety hazards.
During our Home Safety Inspection we:

Test your RCD & Safety Switches to ensure you are safe in your own home.

Make sure your Smoke Alarms are working correctly, are in the correct positions, and more importantly, are compliant with government regulations.

Test & Tag six of your most hazardous household appliances.

Test six of your most used power points.

Conduct a Microwave Leakage test to make sure you and your family are safe.

Complete a 'Home Hazard Report', highlighting any areas that might be creating a risk in and around your home.

PROPERTY SELLERS COMPLIANCE
Vendors and sales agents should now be aware Queensland residential properties sold will need to meet the new strict smoke alarm legislation.
From 1 January 2022, smoke alarms in properties sold must meet new compliance requirements prior to contract signing.
The new legislation adds several new complex requirements to current smoke alarm legislation, including:

be installed in each bedroom as well as on each storey and in hallways which connect bedrooms and the rest of the dwelling;
-
be photoelectric, comply to AS 3786-2014, and powered by either 240 volt or a 10-year lithium battery; and
-
be interconnected with every other smoke alarm in the dwelling so all activate together.
To ease the stress of the sales process, Smoke Alarms Plus offer a professional and prompt sellers compliance service. We recommend that vendors contact us at the time of listing to avoid last minute delays. Smoke Alarms Plus will inspect and upgrade if necessary, to ensure properties being sold are compliant at the time of sale to the 2022 legislation.
The new requirements will be a condition of the contract and failure to comply may put the property sale in jeopardy.
